Most of us love to indulge in food that is sweet in taste.Nothing can be awesome as having a sweet treat.Yummy delicacies can really make us drool.

But some times we avoid sweet treats just because of  health consciousness.This recipe will satisfy our craving for sweet with out any guiltiness.

As the name says it is full of protein as well. I have used   protein rich green gram dal for this recipe  .

This protein balls are not only delicious but healthy as well.Good for kids and also for grownups.

NOTE:GRIND THE DAL IN SMALL BATCHES OTHERWISE IT MAY SPOIL YOUR MACHINE.

PREPARATION TIME: 20 min.

COOKING TIME:40 min.

NUMBER OF BALLS:20.

Ingredients:

Green gram dal – 2 Cups.

Coconut -2 Cups.

Palm sugar or jaggery -1 and a 1/2 Cups.

Sugar 1/2 Cup.

Cardamom powder 2 teaspoon.

Cashew – Few.

Raisins -Few.

Ghee – 2 Tablespoons.

Method:

1.Roast the green gram dal with 1 tablespoon of ghee,until it becomes light brown.

It will take around 20 to 25 minutes .Make sure the stove is in medium otherwise ,the dal will be burned.Let it come to room temperature.

2.Dry roast the  coconut and keep aside.

3.Melt the palm sugar with 1/2 cup of water and filter it just to remove any impurities present in it.

4.Fry the cashew and raisins in one table spoon of ghee .

5.When the roasted dal and coconut comes to normal temperature ,transfer them to a mixer jar and powder them along with the sugar.Put this powder in a bowl and add cardamom powder ,roasted cashews and raisins and the melted palmsugar into this.Mix them all well .

6.Make it into balls.Protein balls are ready to serve

3.Powder the dal , coconut and sugar.

5. Add cardamom powder ,roasted cashews and raisins and the melted palmsugar into the powder.Mix them all well .
