EASY TASTY AND HEALTHY MUSHROOM PATTIES

Mushroom lovers will enjoy these simple and super easy patties.It is easy to make with few ingredients but it is super tasty.

These patties are soft from inside and crispy outside I have served these mushroom patties with tomato sauce and mayonnaise.You can serve these patties with any sauce or chutney you like.I often include this high protein ingredient in my food.

HOW TO STORE MUSHROOMS:

If you buy mushrooms use them quickly.Mushrooms can start to deteriorate quite quickly.If you buy prepackaged mushrooms keep them in their original packaging in the fridge.

If you buy loose mushrooms they should be stored in a paper bag or in a container without lid wrapped with plastic that is punched with a few air holes and stored in the fridge.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF MUSHROOMS:

They contain selenium which is a powerful antioxidant.They also contain B vitamins .Mushrooms are one of the few non-animal sources of vitamin D.

MUSHROOM PATTY RECIPE:

INGREDIENTS:
WHITE MUSHROOM – 250 GRAMS.
ONION – 1 MEDIUM SIZED.
TOMATO – 1 SMALL.
GINGER GARLIC PASTE – 1/2 TEASPOON EACH.
GREEN CHILI – 1 OR 2.
BREAD – 4 SLICES.
GARAM MASALA – 1 TEASPOON.
TURMERIC POWDER – 1/2 TEASPOON.
OIL – FOR FRYING.
SALT – TO TASTE.

METHOD:
1.Heat one or two teaspoons of oil in a pan.Add the chopped onion pieces into the pan and saute them until
they are transparent.
2.When the onion turns transparent add the chopped tomato and green chili pieces and saute them
until the tomatoes becomes soft.
3.Then add the ginger garlic paste and saute them well until the raw smell of ginger and garlic is
completely gone.
4.Clean the mushrooms and cut them into small pieces.Add these mushroom pieces into the pan and mix well.when the mushroom is half cooked add the garam masala turmeric powder and salt to it .
5.Mushroom gives out water when we cook .So cook them until the water is completely dried.
6.Leave it to cool down.
7.Cut the bread into small pieces .In a food processor add the mushroom and also the bread pieces and
grind them into a coarse paste.
8.Make medium sized patties with this mushroom paste.Dust them in
bread crumbs.
6.Heat two to three tablespoons of oil in a pan and put the mushroom patties and fry them .
7.When one side turned golden brown turn the side and fry until that side also becomes crispy and golden
brown.
8.Serve it with your favorite dip.

NOTE:I have used whole wheat bread in this recipe.You can use white bread also or you can use breadcrumbs.You can add more green chili if you like your patty more spicy.

You must cook the mushrooms until the water content in the mushrooms are completely dried .If there is little moisture in your mushroom paste add some bread crumbs to the paste and mix well before making patties.

STEP BY STEP PICTURES

SAUTE THE ONIONS.
ADD THE TOMATO AND GREEN CHILI PIECES.
ADD GINGER GARLIC PASTE.
ADD THE MUSHROOMS
COOK THEM
COOK UNTIL THE WATER IS DRIED COMPLETELY
LET IT COOL
GRIND INTO A COARSE PASTE.
MAKE PATTIES
DUST THEM IN BREAD CRUMBS AND PUT IN A PAN AND FRY THEM ONE SIDE .
WHEN ONE SIDE IS COOKED TURN THE SIDE AND FRY UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN.
IT IS READY TO SERVE.
