INSTANT SWEET DOSA

A simple delicious dosa .Requires no grinding or fermentation.Easy to make ,but tastes good.

Can be served as breakfast or as a snack .You can make this recipe on a lazy day morning, when you need a quick breakfast or you want to pack some thing quick in your kids lunch box .

It  can also  be served as a simple snack when they are back from school.

I have used all-purpose flour,it can be replaced with white whole wheat flour.Baking powder is also optional , I have added a little bit , so that the dosa will be soft,because I like that way.It is not compulsory.If you want your dosa colourful you can add 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder in the batter .

 

PREPARATION TIME: 15 min ; COOKING TIME : 20 min ; NUMBER OF DOSAS:4 to 5

Ingredients:

All purpose flour – 1 cup.

Baking powder -1/2 tea spoon.

Salt -to taste.

Coconut -1  and a 1/2 cup.

Sugar –  2 to 3 table spoons(brown sugar is used here white sugar can also be used).

Water – 1 and a 1/2 cup.

oil – just to grease the pan

Method:

In a pan, dry roast the coconut for two minutes.After two minutes add the sugar to it.Roast it until the sugar  combine well with the coconut.It will take two to three minutes.Switch of the stove ,empty this mixture into a bowl and let it cool.

In a bowl put , all purpose flour,baking powder and a little bit of salt(just to taste) , make it into a thin batter by adding 1 and a 1/2 cup of water.

Grease a tawa with little oil.Pour a ladle full of batter on the center of the tawa.Spread it evenly in a circular shape.

Let it cook in medium heat ,until the edges begin to rise from the pan.

When the edges begin to rise , flip it and let the other side to cook.

Take it off from the pan when both the sides are cooked well.

In this way prepare dosas with the rest of the batter.

Now , take a dosa ,scoop a spoon full of coconut sugar mixture and keep it inside  the dosa and roll it.

Repeat it for the rest of the dosas.

Dry roast the coconut.

Add the sugar  and roast.

Sugar is mixed well with the coconut.

Prepare the batter.

Spread a ladle full of batter on the center of the tawa evenly in a circular shape.

Flip it .

Dosa is cooked.

Spoon full of coconut sugar mixture  inside  the dosa.

Roll it.
