Print Friendly, PDF & Email

This healthy and flavorful spread is great in sandwiches or it is equally fantastic as a dip for tortilla chips or vegetables.

You can make this healthy and tasty spread by simply tossing some common ingredients from your pantry into a mixing bowl. It takes a bit of prep work but it delivers a lot of flavor.

You can store it for up to 5 days in the fridge.

I love all the ingredients in this spread, especially the chili flakes. They added a perfect spiciness to this spread.

How to make herbed yogurt cheese spread

To make the yogurt cheese, I have lined a strainer with a cheese cloth, kept it over a bowl and put the yogurt into it. I covered and drained it overnight in the fridge (at least 8 hours).

I have discarded the liquid left in the bowl. Into the yogurt cheese I have added eggless mayonnaise, dried oregano, red chili flakes, freshly ground black pepper and required amount of salt and mixed well to combine.

The ingredients used in this recipe are common ingredients, that are always present in your kitchen.

The mayonnaise added to the yogurt gives a small tanginess and makes it creamy.

Oregano gives a wonderful aroma and adds flavor.

To make this spread spicy, I have added ground black pepper and also red chili flakes. The red chili flakes give more spiciness to the recipe.

VARIATION

If you are using it as a spread, you can add some cooked chicken breast pieces into it to make it more flavorful. But it tastes great as it is.

If you do not have dried oregano, you can use dried parsley.
