EASY CHOCOLATE PUDDING

The festive season is approaching, a time full of gatherings, traditions and lots of good food and sweet treats. Whether you are welcoming guests or just staying at home by yourself, this chocolate pudding recipe is an excellent one to make. It is easy to make, not time-consuming and is made with simple ingredients which are easily available.

This rich and flavorful pudding is a great end to any meal or a great snack to serve guests. It’s also great for when you want to whip up a huge batch just for yourself when you are really craving sugar.

The full fat milk and butter added makes this pudding extra creamy, rich and flavorful.

It can be served warm or cold, it tastes good either way.

I have topped this delicious dessert with some toasted and slivered almonds, but you can top it with your favorite toppings like sprinkles, chocolate shavings, whipped cream etc.

CHOCOLATE PUDDING RECIPE

This rich and flavorful pudding is not time – consuming, easy to make and is made with simple ingredients which are easily available.

PREPARATION TIME : 5 MINUTES

COOKING TIME : 25 MINUTES

CAN BE SERVED TO 4 PEOPLE

INGREDIENTS

All the ingredients are measured in a 250 ml cup

  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons of corn flour
  • 2 cups of full fat milk
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons of unsalted butter
  • Few toasted almonds, slivered (around 10 – 15)
  • A pinch of salt

METHOD

  • In a bowl combine sugar, cocoa powder, corn flour and salt.
  • Add the milk into it little by little and mix it with a whisk until well blended.
  • Transfer this mixture into a sauce pan and heat in medium temperature, stirring every 30 seconds until it just starts to boil. Do not let it boil.
  • When it starts to boil, reduce the temperature of the stove to the lowest point and continue cooking it until it starts thickening. Keep stirring.
  • Add the butter and mix. Keep cooking until the pudding is thickened enough.
  • Switch off the stove, add the vanilla and mix.
  • Transfer it to another bowl, keep stirring to prevent skin forming.
  • Transfer to serving dish and serve warm or refrigerate and then serve.
  • Just before serving, top it with almond slivers.

NOTES

Care should be taken when you cook the milk and cocoa mixture. Do not bring it to a boil, Reduce the temperature of the stove just before it starts to boil.

Keep stirring every 30 seconds to prevent it from scorched at the bottom.

You can serve this pudding warm or cold.

You can prepare it the previous day and refrigerate to serve it the next day too.

You can top it with your favorite things like chocolate shavings, whipped cream, sprinkles etc.
